IN THE SPOTLIGHT: DRIA LEAD DESIGNER – ON BEING AN ARCHITECT

As an architect, I understand how imperative furniture can be for the final touch to any space. I design residential homes every day, and this is what inspired me to start DRIA. Constantly envisioning pieces to fill these spaces is how I leveraged into the furniture world. My passion for architecture and interiors is what has made this business so successful, as I truly love what I do and have adapted this same ideology into DRIA. As an architect, I work closely with clients to design their spaces, weather that be a dream family home or development project, nailing the brief is always the greatest priority. I love seeing how clients style their homes after construction is completed and have always gravitated towards the interior design side of architecture. I enjoy selecting the internal finishes and believe that furniture can play a vital role in how the space reads all together.

The pieces I have designed for my first DRIA collection will hopefully suit a variety of spaces. Having 4 core colourways for the fabrication was also intentionally done to provide customers with the best range, without an overwhelming amount to choose from. I have selected the four colours that I believe will look fantastic in any space, all of which are vastly different from one another. Similarly, when presenting the interior finishes to a client, I aim to provide only a handful of the best options, instead of giving a swatch of 100 paint colours. This gets the best outcomes as clients learn to trust my selections, which is what customers do with my DRIA colourways for Collection One: Connect.
